Been Busy

Been Busy

DH fractured his hand on the eve of Chinese New Year! It was quite a shock as he had to go for surgery that very night and had to miss the family's reunion dinner. Thankfully he could come home the next day and we still managed to celebrate most of the holidays as planned. It was a refreshing change though as I had to help him with some daily stuff, and it is a change from being the usually dependent me! :) Here's a layout to remember this time!

Our home was quite spiffed up for the holidays so it was a good time to take some pictures, and I wanted to capture the little touches that grace our home during this time. It is great to have some of the traditional foods, decorations, and things up, the one time in the year our family get more connected with our culture. As our country become more modern and cosmopolitan, I feel a need to give my boys greater sense of our culture and traditions. Here's one for the record

And am finally scrapping the 2nd day of our US trip spent in Annapolis. My first try at a double page layout, I liked that all the photos could fit in! Unfortunately I don't know how to make this image appear larger than this! Credits: Paper from Weeds&Wildflowers' A Better Me, twine by Natalie Design, buttons and stitching by Donna Rafferty, alpha by Kristal Hartley, and flower clip by Carol Abram.
This is now available as a set in the store here

  22. Thanks so much for the double page template. I've been looking for some. I have a lot of pictues in different themes I want to scrap. I have a question though. I noticed that the pictures overlap the center. How do you do that in a book. Do you cut it down the middle and then it is divided or do you do something special. Sorry, I having a hard time figuring this one out.

  27. All things considered your DH seems to be holding up pretty well. :) I remember when Pan broke his wrist. But we won't go there, LOL.

Love your layouts and I think you have the right idea in maintaining a tie with your culture. It is so important for children to know.

We have a granddaughter who is half-filippino and my daughter has really been urging her ex to teach the Princess their language and customs as it is part of her heritage. He is finally coming around to the idea and teaching her.

Thank you so much for the lovely template. Look forward to using it.

  48. The double page layout sure took the work out of doing it myself . . . gives fill in the blanks a new meaning, . . I would send you a copy of the layout but I am new to this and can't figure out how or where. Your TOU has your web address but not an upload address .. .maybe it is jsut me . . . anyway . .. GREAT layout. . ..

My only wish would be that you had the three layers for each picture collapsed So you can adjust photo placement a little easier. I guess I could do that myself .. but I didn't have a need for it until AFTER I had placed all the photos . . and then wanted to change things a tad because of wanting to add nick nacks.

Also . . like I said I am new to this . . is there a way to have the photo shop files bigger than the finished size so the frames that hang over would be there in case you wanted to move it in and not go off the page?? I do the 8.5 x 11 size pages so clipping the 12 x 12 was a tiny bit tricky . . .pulled it off keeping the basic integrity or your design . . looks hot!
